Sacred Endings and New Beginnings
I would like to say good-bye. Many of you on my mailing list have been with me for over 30 years. I have been with you in many ways. We began our spiritual journey together. We were in Sanctuary in the Washington, DC area together. We played and learned at our Sanctuary in the farmlands of upper Ohio. We have gone to Ireland together and most recently to Damanhur. I have been with you as loved ones died, hearts were broken, victories were won. I love that in our time together your life became clearer and your path became more possible. I was there for so many things and being able to be there has been as source of great fulfillment in my life. I have now done courses, consults, talks, activations, vision quests and other things for well over half of my life. And then, a depth began to overtake me that I have not known before. I entered a time of transition.
I went on a sabbatical to see who I am now. I experience what gives my life joy and meaning now. What I want to let go of and keep now. Today, October 31st, is the last of day of my sabbatical. As Pete Seegar says,
To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
I knew that I am entering into a new time for me. I love to work and will continue but I want to narrow my path to take care of what my twilight years are to be a part of. I am called to respond to Spirit in wonderful and life fulfilling ways:
New for me is to focus on the Maturing of our Consciousness in those of us who are twilight years: The privacy with our own existence.
I would like to tell you about what it is like to enter the twilight of your life. It is beautiful. Many of you who have been with me for so long are in this twilight experience that comes to all of us before the next dawn. I would like to take care of these years ahead and be there with you if you find yourself interested in the richness of your own private existence. I know that money is often a limiting factor for those whose lives have entered the twilight of their lives. I will accommodate that. I would love to move in our timeline between 69 and 109 in a magical, life-enhancing, and fulfilling way so that what had each came to earth is left behind woven as a gift into that invisible reality that lays beneath the surface of the everyday life and influences the world’s thoughts and actions. There are two essential factors in aging. One is to embrace the gifts inherent in the privacy of your twilight years. The second is knowing when you leave that you have poised yourself for your next journey. Do not try to mess with me about this! Every tradition and now science knows that our consciousness carries on. Tending to our next recursion of existence is essential. It is a journey that is designed to start around 70 when your internal world begins to seek your companionship and become a rich fertile existence until the day you close your eyes and journey through the night sky to your next existence.
First:
I exist to evolve, as do you. We couldn’t ‘not evolve’ even if we wanted to. As Werner Erhard, founder of est and transformational technology says, “It is best to ride the horse in the direction it is going.”
We are in a time of evolving out of the world we were born into and the reality that we have now into setting the stage for new ways of existing that will be born out of the dying of the old. I love evolution, not Darwin’s, but the evolving of the human spirit more and more into heaven on earth. Heaven on earth, not a religion but a truth, is what the promise of this planet is and the promise of her forms, of which, it would be wise to remember, that we are one of those forms.
Imprinting the field with our evolving consciousness is a juicy life enhancing journey for me. It is the one gift every human being can leave behind.
I do not live for my only one life. I am alive for all time on behalf of all life. I am not the only one.
As I move forward on my journey, I notice I am more and more drawn to those who use their challenges, their confusions, and the instincts and sensitivities they can’t ignore to evolve beyond what has compromised their existence and cost them their joy.
While, there is an erratic chaotic perpetuation of victimhood on this planet, even in the evidence that supports victimization, there are those that do not fall victim to its path and thrive in their love of life even in the worst of circumstances. Here is where I can play. In the field of Creation ‘beyond all right or wrong doing’*.
Thank you, Rumi.
I have the precious gift of the young [ages 5 through 68] engaging with me who are very committed to evolving into being in the wonders of this beautiful place we found ourselves in. And, taking on the rigor and joy of evolving beyond the reality we were born into. In the Spirals of Being, the age ranges from those in their twenties to those in their eighties.
So far, what I am providing monthly, I will continue to provide, but only for those who are committed to evolving into the future of the life of this planet and her forms…again heaven on earth.
In these changing times, one of the most powerful activities of our lives is our evolving consciousness. It does not matter our circumstances, our point of view, our outer activities for all of these may be changing with no ability on our part to stop that change. The ability to be awake and consciously conscious connected to and moving with the wonder of our Creation is essential as the world as we have known it is passing in a new world. The dying world is working some things out, caught in the inevitability of its own evolution– sometimes in a more than difficult way. As these next few years unfold, our own lives become the fertile field of our existence. We go inward. We look for signs and connections of the reality behind the scenes that is building the foundation of a rising future as what no longer provides life declines and dies away. Both in us and in our reality. We engage. We find. We keep. We have. Miracles or miracles are at hand.
Halloween’s origin came from many places. In central and southern America, Día de Muertos , the Day of the Dead, has roots go as far back as the Aztec times honoring a goddess, The Lady of the Dead. Samhain, a Celtic festival, is a celebration and preparation for the dying season so the new life can be born in the spring.
There is a skeleton in our modern closet that so many modern people fear. Death, dying, things we have counted on going out of existence, loss of loved ones, end of life as we have known it, change, what we are attached to going out of existence. Tonight, I will purposely not celebrate horror stories that evoke fear of skeleton, ghosts, or other spirits of the dead. Whether they exist or not, I leave to you. What matters is that this day is no longer held in the power of the sacred that once kept the life of a human being sacred. Scared not sacred. It is enough. The spiritual deficit of our world is killing us. These three days, October 31st, November 1st, and November 2nd were for thousands of years, times to stop the mad rush of life and be with what has died and who has died. But more importantly, preparing for letting that which is to go out of existence be an activity of celebration.
Sitting here in my favorite motel on the beach in Fort Bragg, I realize it is no accident that my ten day long sabbatical ends tonight, a night of celebration of death.
As you grow older, whether you are conscious of it or not, you begin the transition toward the dying season. Just as winter does not suddenly come upon us and we are thrust into oblivion the dying season does not start when your body is dying. The dying season is always there as a sacred act of life.
